[Virtual] Japanese Animation

Service Description

Do you enjoy animated feature films? Then join us at the “Fun with the Animated Feature Films of Studio Ghibli”! In this class, we will study films such as Totoro (1988), Spirited Away(2001), and The Wind Rises(2013). It’s partly a history class and a film class with an examination of screenplays and animation techniques. And it’s’ all easygoing fun! For each class, we will watch sections of these feature films or cartoon shorts. And then we will have some discussion centering around the creation of these cartoons. Students are encouraged to have some popcorn, or another snack of their choosing, to munch during the movie watching.
