Spring 2025: Thrive Virtual Day Programs

Thrive is an online program crafted for adults with IDDs who want to learn, connect, and thrive in a welcoming virtual space.

About Thrive

Thrive is a virtual day program that brings adults with IDDs together in a supportive space for daily enrichment. Through engaging discussions on current events, arts, social media, and self-care, participants connect and learn alongside one another.

Structured sessions for stretching, ASL practice, book club, and personal development provide a well-rounded experience focused on building confidence, exploring interests, and having fun in a vibrant online community.

Engaging Daily Schedule with Diverse Academic and Recreational Topics

9-9:30AM

Morning Welcome

Start the day with gentle, seated upper-body stretches accessible for all mobility levels. We then invite each participant to share a personal affirmation or a positive thought to begin the day with a boost of positivity. Together, we enjoy a brief “feel good” video or article, setting an uplifting tone for the day ahead.

9:30-10AM

Current Events

Participants take turns sharing their local weather updates and discussing weather-appropriate clothing choices. We explore a variety of local news highlights, featuring topics like Austin-area events, animal stories, new building openings, and community festivals. We also celebrate notable holidays with short videos or articles that bring the significance of the day to life.
